Idaho Sculpture Jam 2022

August 4-6

Idaho Sculpture Jam 2022

With the idea of creating a sense of fellowship and camaraderie among sculptors, who are often known for their solitary ways.  The Idaho Community of the National Sculpture Society is excited to announce the second annual Figure Sculpture Jam.  With eighteen (18) hours of sculpting, from a live model, over a three day period: Thursday, August 4th to Saturday, August 6th. The Sculpture Jam will be held at JUMP (Jacks Urban Meeting Place) in Boise, Idaho.

Because this event will be taking place in a public building, during business hours, the model will be covered (Leotard or something similar)

NEW THIS YEAR! We will be holding an optional FACE OFF event during JUMP’s first Thursday Celebration. This fun and challenging event will take place in the Lobby area of JUMP where spectators will be able to see the action taking place. Sculptors will pair up and sculpt a portrait of each other. See more details in the FACE OFF tab.

At the conclusion of the event, there will be a closing reception, where awards will be given.

Lunch will be provided each day and parking at JUMP is paid for with your registration.

All Sculptors are welcome to participate, with priority given to Idaho-based sculptors who sign up before May 9th, 2022.  Enrollment is limited to 12 participants, so sign up now to reserve your spot!

See how much fun last year was in the video below.

This years Sculpture Jam will be held at JUMP in Boise, Idaho. It’s a super cool state of the art facility sure to inspire. We will be spending most of our time in the Loft room with its own private terrace, and views of downtown Boise. The FACE OFF event will take place in the main lobby.

This year we are pleased to include a FACE OFF event to the Sculpture Jam. This will be an optional event but, hey, it’s sculpting! So who wouldn’t want to do it?

When: This event will happen during JUMP’s regularly scheduled First Thursday Celebration from 5:00 – 9:00 on Thursday August 4th.

Where: Although the Sculpture Jam is happening upstairs in the Loft Room, the FACE OFF will take place in the Main Lobby.

How it works: Sculptors will pair off and create a portrait sculpt each other. It is fun and challenging because your model keeps moving as they sculpt you. When finished you can do whatever you want with the sculpture. You might choose to finish it and gift it to each other.
